Flexible warm edge Super Spacer^® technology combined with high-performance sealing systems. Industry pioneers Edgetech and Schlegel are joining forces at Fensterbau Frontale. From 24 to 27 March 2026, the two Quanex subsidiaries will be showcasing practical solutions at booth 7A-525 that take the energy efficiency, durability and functional reliability requirements of modern window and facade systems to the next level.

One example of this is the latest development in warm edge technology: triple insulating glass with Super Spacer^® is now ready for the market. Super Spacer^® will also be focusing on the commercial sector at the fair, where precise robot-assisted application on XXL formats, colour design will also play a central role. Spacers are increasingly being specified in grey to complement the transparency of modern glass facades.

 

Skinny triples, or thin triple insulating glazing, are developing into a growth market. However, technical hurdles, high investment costs and the need for new manufacturing technology have until now prevented widespread implementation. However, Super Spacer^® and Forel are proving that production is marketable. Following an update, insulating glazing can be produced on existing, fully automated, high-speed production lines from the Italian glass processing machine manufacturer without requiring additional investments running into millions. This can be done using familiar profile systems, conventional soda-lime glass and standard sealing solutions, as well as the flexible warm edge Super Spacer^®.

Precision is a crucial factor. Super Spacer^® can be applied precisely to the middle pane, which is thinner. Production quality remains stable even with tolerances of significantly less than one millimetre, which is an important prerequisite for making 'skinny triples' practical, especially for private window renovations.
